Please join us on Friday, October 31 from 12:00–1:00 pm (via Zoom) for a departmental seminar featuring Dr. Cynthia Adinortey from the University of Cape Coast (Ghana) who is currently a Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence at UNC Asheville. Her talk is titled:

“Hidden Invaders: How Superbugs Threaten Global Health”

Dr. Adinortey is a Molecular Microbiologist whose research focuses on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and global health. She holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from the University of Cape Coast and is an AMR Insights Ambassador and Affiliate of the African Academy of Sciences. Dr. Adinortey has also served as an Editor for mBio, a 2024 Africa–UBC Oceans and Fisheries Visiting Fellow, and an active advocate for STEM education and women in science across Africa and beyond.
