North Carolina Science Festival
When: Saturday, April 6th (10:00 am - 2:00 pm)
Where: Profile Trail Parking Lot at Grandfather Mountain State Park in Banner Elk
(Note this is free to the public at the State Park off 105, not the GM Attraction, so no admission fees.)
AppState Biology will have a great group of 10+ faculty and students at this event with some educational and hands-on activities suitable for the entire family and expertise for those who want to learn more about
native plants and the research that our students are doing on or near Grandfather Mountain. We'll have a plant-pollinator matching game, tree ID display, and a black walnut cracking station to test your strength
against one of the toughest nuts in the eastern US. There will be a ranger-guided walk at 1 PM to look for wildflowers, trees, mosses, and birds.
