Congratulations to Clare Scott Chialvo, who was just awarded an NSF BRC-BIO award entitled An integrative approach to examine the impacts of evolutionary novelty on generalist species. She was awarded $500K in direct costs for 3 years to study “how novel adaptations that are typically associated with host specialization (i.e., tolerance to highly toxic, host compounds) impacts the behavior and evolution of generalist species that possess them” using Drosophila tripunctata.
