Congratulations goes out to Zoe Foster, one of the Mountaineer Medics, who competed in a statewide EMS competition at the annual NC Association of Rescur & EMS Convention in Asheville, NC. The competition involved navigating a realistic scenario where the medics had to evaluate and treat two patients while being scored by an evaluator and watched/presented with challenges from serveral actor and bystanders. Following the scenario, the medics also had to complete a written exam (individually). Final scores from each block were combined to determine team placement. All four of the Mounaineer Medics did very well.
One team placed first place and brought back to campus a trophy honoring their achievement. The team includes Zoe Foster (Cell Molecular Biology Major) and Logan Seller (Sociology Major).
Zoe is pursuing a major in Cell Molecular Biology with a chemistry minor. Her professional career goals include going to medical school upon completion of her undergraduate degree.
